I am a retired dentist. I have had a pair of Designs for Vision Loupes for many years. They are broken and I need a new set for some volunteer dentistry I do and for hobbies.
I was thinking the 2.5 or 3x flip up on the titanium frames with the 13.5 " focal distance would do fine. Which do you suggest.
I use graduated bifocals. Can my distance prescription be added to the eyeglass frame so I can see when I look up? How much would that cost? |

This is my second request for a reply. I am a retired dentist in the United States. I used loupes when I practiced dentistry. Now I want a magnifying loupe for general use such as making models and repairing small items, while sitting at a desk. I wear prescription eyeglasses all the time.
The clip on, flip up style seems to be a good choice, but I am concerned they will not be secure on my glasses or may scratch the frame or lens when putting on or taking off. The flip up headband style also seems to be a good choice, because it avoids the concerns I have with the clip on style, but you do not show it in combination with eye glasses. Can it be used with eyeglasses?
Which style will be lighter and which style has the best optics? Which style do you suggest?
Also, how do I best determine the best working distance for me?

we suggest you choose the Flip Up titanium frames loupes. it is lighter and the loupes mount on the titanium frames.
the titanium fraems can be mounted RX lens. and we also can mount the prescrpotion lens on the Titanium frames. Noral power only add USD35.00
The working distance is the distance is from your eyes to object. because the loupes had depth of view, so only need chose the close optional working distance. you can measure the distance if yours, and then choose the colser one (340mm 420mm 500mm 550mm).
